Ceramic technology of sealing, sliding and storage

In the automobile industry reqirements on storage, sealing and slide rings are particularly high, for example in the exhaust systems, in circuits of gases or liquids and of course in engine systems. In various aggressive surroundings technical 3D-ceramics ensure a high temperature resistance, high resilience and an extraordinary wear resistance. For example, components for storage, sliding and sealing technology can be manufactured in different ways from alumina and zirconium oxide. The spectrum of applications ranges from shafts and valves over plain bearings and slide rings to spools for water pumps, rolling bearings or fuel pumps.

Sensors for exhaust and oil level measurements

Equally possible is the production of 3D ceramic sensors for exhaust measurements, for the measurement of oil levels and for other measurements in hot media. The so-produced heat-resistant 3D-printing ceramic components endure a wide change of temperatures, dispose of a high wear resistance, are chemically resistant and can be manufactured in the complex geometries. Thus, we can support the automobile industry in every field where filigree, resistant components are applied.

 

Exhaust gas flaps and vent valves

Technical 3D-ceramics stand the test where traditional components can only realise a much shorter life or even fail. An excellent ceramic component, for example, is zirconium oxide. Due to its low modulus of elasticity, its high strength and abrasion resistance, its excellent surface properties and its thermal expansion coefficient corresponding to steel, zirconium oxide is a perfect 3D-printing component for constituents for vent valves and exhaust gas flaps manufactured by the LCM-method.
