Materials

For our oil-resistant seals we mainly use the following sealing materials:

• PTFE (polytetraflourethylene)
• PTFE/glass fibre compound
• NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber, nitrile caoutchouc)
• NBR/SBR compound
• gasket paper
• aramid/elastomer compound
• asbestos-free sealing material, for example AFM 34 (among others with aramid fibres and inorganic fillers)
• polyurethane rubber (AU, EU)

Areas of application

A typical field of application for oil-resistant sealings is the automobile industry. In this area a good wear resistance in conjunction with a good resistance to mineral oil and ozone is particularly demanded. For smaller hydraulic sealing elements, for example, polyurethane rubber (AU, EU) is well suited.
