DONIT®

General

The term DONIT® comprises various sealing materials in which elastomers with fibre materials are processed into thin gasket paper. Steinbach AG, for example, manufactures flat seals according to the DIN standard 2690 out of the material DONIT® consisting of aramid fibres and the elastomer NBR. The seals resist to high pressures and therefore are preferably used in the high-pressure range.

As an alternative to DONIT®, the sealing material KlingerSil® can be used, which has the same properties.

Properties

DONIT seals are resistant to water, oil, organic and inorganic acids and steam. Furthermore, they are particularly suitable for the use with gases, alcohols, hydrocarbons, refrigerants, lubricants and fuels.

Range of use and areas of application

DONIT® is suitable for high-pressure seals in the area of pneumatics, hydraulics, chemical industries, drinking water and gas supply, food processing as well as in engineering.
