PTFE glass fabric in general

Glass fabrics with a coating of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) belong to the most well-known textiles in the automotive industry, mechanical engineering and the plastics industry, along with pure glass fabrics and pure PTFE fabrics. The coating with PTFE gives the glass fabric extremely good surface properties so that it hardly gets dirty and has excellent non-stick properties. There are closed and open-meshed PTFE fiberglass fabrics.

Properties of PTFE fabric

PTFE fabric is an advanced material that has excellent properties due to the combination of high-quality glass fabric and PTFE coating:

  • Moisture-resistant
  • Dimensionally stable

In addition, PTFE glass fabric is highly resistant to chemicals, UV, IR and HF radiation as well as temperatures between -150°C and 260°C. PTFE glass fabric has a light transmission between 7 and 15%. 68 to 75% of the incident sunlight is reflected.

Areas of use and application of PTFE glass fabric

Due to their excellent properties, PTFE fabrics are suitable for a wide range of applications in different industries:

Our PTFE fabric is mainly used as a PTFE conveyor belt in the solar, glass, textile, automotive and plastics industries as well as in mechanical engineering. Because of their high temperature resistance, the PTFE fabrics can be used excellently as a conveyor belt for warming up heavy foils, for example. In addition, the glass fabrics are suitable as a conveyor belt in the production process for non-stick or anti-static requirements. PTFE fabrics have also proven themselves where long run times and stresses are required on the conveyor belt.

Furthermore, PTFE fabric can be used as a separating film or underlay or intermediate layer for products. The coated PTFE glass fabric is particularly suitable as a welding pad because it is non-stick, antistatic and temperature-resistant at the same time. In addition, the material can also be used as a machine protection element, for example as an ejection guard.

It is also used in important architectural projects with high quality standards. For example, it can be used to implement infrastructure and cultural projects.
